August 29th – September 2nd

Get Started

What is a SyncUP and the Weekly Guide?

To put is simply, a “SyncUP” is spending quality time with God for the purpose of knowing Him better in order to align your life (mind, will, and emotions) to His design.  The sync goes only in one direction…UP!
The Weekly SyncUP Guide publishes every Monday and is provided as a FREE resource to SyncUP email subscribers only. Click here to Invite a Friend to Join SyncUP.

This guide provides five (5) daily outlines on scripture reading, reflection questions, life application steps, and prayers to help you have your own daily SyncUPs with God for the rest of the week.

This is not a prescription but a rather a resource to help facilitate rich, fulfilling, genuine, and life changing time with God.

DON’T FREAK OUT…if doing all 5 this week is overwhelming, set a goal of 2 or 3 and work your way up from there.
God Bless!

Day 1

Day 1 – Raised with Christ

Reading

Key Verse: Colossians 3:1 (ESV)

Cross Reference: Romans 6:9-11 (ESV)

Reflection

What does being raised in Christ mean according to the scriptures?

Does your way of thinking demonstrate that you have been raised in Christ? How? How not?

Looking at your life, are you “living it to God” (v.10) or to something or someone else?

The Word in Action

Today, walk in confidence that sin and death have no power over your life. Walk with gratitude that it was Christ’s death that made it possible.

Prayer

Gracious Father, thank you for a raised life. In Christ, I’ve been raised out of a life enslaved to sin. In Him, I’ve been set free from sin’s death penalty. Teach me to live this raised life in honor of You, just like my Savior.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Day 2

Day 2 – Seek Things Above

Reading

Key Verse: Colossians 3:1 (ESV)

Cross Reference: 2 Corinthians 4:18 (ESV)

Reflection

What’s does “transient” mean?

Think about a time when your life was focused on seeking “transient” things. What happened? What was it like?

What are the “unseen” things the scripture is referring to? How are you seeking these things today?

The Word in Action

Today, seek the things that will have value in both this lifetime and the next. Godly ambitions always have eternal longevity.

Prayer

My Lord, give me eyes to see the unseen things that matter most to You and the focus to seek them out. Protect me from being dazzled by the momentary appeal of things, experiences, and relationships that were never meant to last. Show me how to seek the eternal things that can satisfy the eternal needs of my soul.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Day 3

Day 3 – A Heavenly Mind

Reading

Key Verse: Colossians 3:2

Cross Reference: Romans 8:4-6

Reflection

What is the connection between what you set your mind on and how you live?

Why does setting the mind on the flesh lead to death? (Hint: Read Rom. 8: 7-8)

If your mind was a movie, who would people think was the director, the flesh or the Spirit?

The Word in Action

Today, take hold of every thought and make it obedient to Christ. (2 Cor. 10:5)

Prayer

My Lord and my God, keep my mind close to You. Let the Spirit direct my thoughts and, therefore, my actions. Transform me by the renewing of my mind so I can discern what is Your will and what is not.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Day 4

Day 4 – Hidden with Christ

Reading

Key Verse: Colossians 3:3

Cross Reference: Philippians 4:7

Reflection

How does Philippians 4:7 connect to Colossians 3:3?

If believers are hidden with Christ, what are we hidden from? What are we hidden for?

The opposite of hidden is exposed. Describe a time in your life when you felt exposed and how it felt. Compare it to how it feels to be hidden with Christ.

The Word in Action

Today, read and meditate on Psalm 57:1

Prayer

My Refuge and my Redeemer, I am protected in You. Christ’s perfection overshadows my life and in Him I’m safe from both wickedness and judgment. My life and my peace are secure. Praise God!

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Day 5

Day 5 – Appearing with Him in Glory

Reading

Key Verse: Colossians 3:4

Cross Reference: 1 John 3:2

Reflection

The Bibles tells a lot about Jesus’ second coming. What’s one thing we are told about what it will be like for believers from today’s scriptures?

Read today’s key verse again. Why is being hidden in Christ now so important for the future?

What does it mean that “we shall see him as he is”?

The Word in Action

Today, praise God now for the future glory of tomorrow.

Prayer

My Redeemer, I have a secure place in the eternal tomorrow, all because of You. I am so honored and so grateful that, as a believer, I am now called a child of God. And wherever you will be, I can be confident I will be there too. Praise God for the blessed assurance I have in Christ!

In Jesus Name, Amen.
